Hi everyone! This site is for those who know and love Alyson. Who will give her support
through this long healing process. Thank you for all the prayers so far. Please continue
to pray for healing. We believe God is a healer and miracle worker.
Alyson was vacationing in Ft. Lauderdale and went on a yacht Saturday, October 2, 2021
with her cousin and some friends. Not long into the trip, she took a step backwards and
fell down 7 stairs (we call it the black hole), landing at the bottom on her back. She
broke her C6 and has had 2 surgeries to repair it and the torn ligaments around it. She
has feeling / sensation in her legs, but nothing in her feet which are swollen like a
balloon. Her fingers on both hands stay loosely curled up, especially on her right hand.
She has a nasty bruise on her right elbow, and 1 stitch. Her left hand is bruised and very
swollen. Prior to her first surgery (anterior) on Monday she was starting to have a hard
time breathing so they left her intubated. Monday evening we found out she needed a
second surgery (posterior) which occurred first thing Tuesday morning. Late this
afternoon they removed her ventilator... now she just wants "to go home". :-) She is still
receiving some oxygen, her entire body hurts (as you can imagine), and isn't out of the
woods yet. Praying that she has a good restful night and does not need to be intubated
again. Would love for her to move out of the ICU Trauma unit tomorrow!
Alyson loves flowers, but while in ICU she is not allowed to have any. If you've sent them
already, they are giving them to me which we are holding at Meg's apartment until
Alyson is out of ICU.
There is also an option Alyson's work found on the Broward Health Medical Center
(browardhealth.org) that allows you to send a greeting card. The hospital prints it out
and gives it to her. Her current room is ICU B 17. I'll update her room here when she
moves.

I have always loved this saying by Bob Marley…You never know how strong you are until
being strong is the only choice you have. Be strong Alyson!! You got this! I am praying
for you and a speedy recovery!! ❤️
