Alyson is settled in at her new “home” for the next 30 days. The ambulance ride in Fort

Lauderdale was smooth, flight was smooth, ambulance ride from Midway airport to

downtown Chicago sucked. We forgot about the crappy roads here and all the bumps

really hurt Alyson’s neck. AND the air ambulance staff (Tony & Dani) who went with us to

Shirley Ryan brought a freshly baked Lou Malnati’s pizza along for the ride. Torture!!

When Alyson left Broward Health they had a little send off as she went through the unit.

It was very sweet and encouraging. They did a video of this so it’ll also be on their social

media.

During intake at Shirley Ryan we discovered that Alyson has lost 15 pounds over the last

3 weeks. Hopefully better food and healing will put some weight back on this girl.

Therapy assessment starts tomorrow at 8:30am and goes until 2:00pm. I’m sure she’ll

be napping after that. 😁

Alyson’s address:

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab

Alyson West, Room 2217

355 East Erie Street

Chicago, IL 60611

Let the rehab (and more pain 🙁) begin!
