What a day!

ree

Although Alyson passed her swallow test this morning, every time she would drink

something she would cough a little so her nurse was not comfortable continuing with

liquids. Feeding tube continued, take 2 tomorrow.

One of the Respiratory Therapists showed me Alyson's chest x-ray from yesterday

morning compared to this morning. We can start to see her upper lobe more clearly and

her diaphragm in the lower quadrant. Hopefully she'll get at least 6 more treatments in

between the next chest x-ray tomorrow morning and praying it shows a drastic

improvement.

Alyson sat in a chair again today for hours. I can't even remember when she was moved

into it this morning, but I'm going to say it was at least 7 hours of sitting. At one point a

nurse and I saw her left leg move. After that her Physical Therapist, who was very

impressed with all the progress she made since he last saw her on Friday, said that he

felt a little push of the same leg. I told Dr. Roberts (her neurosurgeon) about it, who

verified with the nurse, and he said, "I'll take it." He also said she does not need to wear

her neck brace if she's just laying in bed, but she's afraid to take it off. 🙂 And as I'm

typing this she sent a pic of herself WITHOUT the neck brace!! 👏

Please pray for continued healing, and for guidance on which inpatient rehab location to

place her at.

Have a great evening!
