Today Alyson walked 15 minutes straight on the treadmill (must have harness on

treadmill), and walked 40 feet on the track with just the walker, no harness, but still

needs assistance with her right foot. We are told it’s just a matter of time before things

start working again, but she’s still making progress! They also had her go around the

block outside to practice using the wheelchair. They do not recommend Alyson use the

wheelchair outside without assistance so she doesn't end up in the street! 🤣 In OT she

used the weight machine to work on her shoulders and arms... expects to be sore

tomorrow. They also stretched her fingers, joint by joint. Ahhh… relief! She can now

make a fist with her right hand!! Now needs to get strength back. I think Alyson is still

recovering from the weekend because she took a 2 hour nap after therapies today. 😴

Shepherd Day Rehab program is not in God’s plan for Alyson, at least not at this time.

Her doctor said they are not accepting referrals because of COVID-19 so I’m not going to

even try. Dr. Kessler says that she may not need a day rehab program anyway with the

progress she's making. Shirley Ryan has sent referral packets to Frazier in Louisville and

Patricia Neal in Knoxville. I did talk to Frazier and she seems to think it won’t be a

problem getting Alyson into their program.
