Saturday Alyson had a light therapy day since her OT therapist didn’t show up for work. 🤣
She did walk on the platform walker in PT with little support from her therapist. In group therapy Alyson played bocci ball, and talked with Marine Cpl Kelsee Lainhart. Kelsee, now 20 yo, was 19 yo when she was injured during the August 26, 2021 suicide bombing while on duty at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan. She suffered a severe spinal cord injury which has left her paralyzed and no feeling from her chest down. Alyson said that she has a lot of scars from the bomb, including a chunk of her upper arm missing. She is determined to walk again. 🙏🏻
Alyson introduced Nashville friends Brandi and Kayla to Portillos and Lou Malnati’s. Yum!
Sunday was Alyson’s day of rest… and snow. ❄️
4 days of inpatient therapy left!
