This morning Alyson walked with a platform walker and her right leg was moving on its
own / taking steps with little assistance from her therapist. 🥳🎉. Wish she could move it when just sitting around like she can with her left leg. Patience. Praying in due time this will happen.
Today was parent / caregiver learning day. Learned how to drag Alyson and her
wheelchair up the stairs and let her roll back down. 🤣. Learned how to support her on/off the bed, toilet, shower bench and car. I’m being accused of man handling her like a sack of potatoes, but when I didn’t she almost fell. 🤔 Alyson got fitted for her custom wheelchair and picked the color of titanium matte gray. This won’t be ordered for at least a month and not arrive for 3 months. She will leave here with a loaner chair.
Two more friends who are former co-workers from Nashville are here to visit Alyson for
the weekend. Welcome to Chicago Brandi and Kayla! Glad your winter coat purchase for
this trip will be put to good use. 🥶❄
