This is an exhausting week and it's only Tuesday! Six (6) doctor / therapy appointments

and getting 40 hours of work in is stretching our limits.

This morning Alyson had her hopefully second to last wound care doctor appointment.

Her right heel is almost all the way healed, just a little spot left. Prior to her appointment

next week, I'm hoping to find out why we continually show up for an 8:00 AM

appointment, but do not see the provider for about 1.5 hours, he's only in the room for a

minute and we are out of there in another 15-20 minutes max. It could easily be a 30

minute appointment instead of almost 2 hours. Such a waste of our time. 😖

This afternoon Alyson had an appointment with a Neurologist. She was on the patient

bed when he came in so he asked how she got there. He was impressed that in 3

months she was able to stand up, much less step up onto the table. After a bunch of

strength and movement tests he said he thinks she'll get back to walking and expects to

see her with a walker or crutches in 3 months. He said her right foot needs an AFO

(custom foot and leg brace) to help her with the walking, which she has had since Shirley

Ryan in Chicago, but she can't use it until her heel heals completely. Hopefully one more

week! Alyson is getting deformities in her right hand which he thinks is permanent

because of where her injury is so she may be a lefty now. "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED" by

Alyson 💪. Aside from day 1 saying she will walk again, Alyson has also said she will be a

righty again. Vandy OT did give her a hand brace last week that she wears when

sleeping to help with this, but she will be further inquiring at her appointment on

Thursday. The doctor said she has 1 year to recover... and he means it! We have heard

this. Lastly, he reminded us how VERY lucky Alyson is to have recovered this much. She

truly is a miracle being healed by God our miracle worker! 🙏🏻✝️
